Gary and I have been pretty much running the show, (with the asistance and input from Lynda Shely and the folks at Event Concierge — thank you both), but we never intended this to be the Gary & Jeff association. We truly want every one of you to feel like this is YOUR organization. So, with that in mind, if you are interested in a board position or otherwise would like to participate more, please post your interest or send us an email at info@northphoenixbarassociation.org. We want to hear from you.

At the last CLE/Luncheon Gary and I mentioned that we were looking for input on changes to make to the website. I am not a huge fan of the current logo or color scheme. If anyone has ideas on logos and color schemes, and in particular, if you have experience with Weblog Themes, please contact me. If you have other thoughts on changes to the website, please post them here, or send us an email at info@northphoenixbarassociation.org. Thanks!

The Maricopa County Superior Court is taking applications for nominations for commissioner positions right now.  The application process closes on May 28, 2010 at 3:00 pm.  The Court plans to try to have final interviews with the candidates by July 9, 2010.  If you are interested, please see the attached FLYER.

Our guest speaker for the June Luncheon and CLE will be Charles Dunlap of Realty Resolution Advisers.  Mr. Dunlap is an experienced contractor and receiver.  He will be instructing us about Real Estate Defaults and Workouts in the “new economy.”   Even if you don’t practice real estate, no doubt as a legal professional you have had worried clients ask you about their options.   Having some working knowledge of options will be useful and give you the ability to continue to “add value” to your clients.  Here is the flyer.

Sorry for the short notice on this flyer, though any of you who have joined or asked to be on our mailing list should have already received the notice.  Today’s guest speaker is Commissioner Stephen Kupiszewski.  He will be providing an overview of the Northeast Court Facility – kind of a “What You Should Know” if you practice before that court.   Here is the flyer.
